Caves of Abraham under
construction - January 2001
The Caves of Abraham in Simi Valley, California is an extensive
cemetery structure which includes underground catacombs and surface
crypts. The reinforced concrete catacombs are designed to support a
covering of twenty feet of earth. Hillside retaining systems were
also a project requirement. Waterproofing the structure against the
intrusion of ground water was a concern in the design, along with
accessibility for both burials and visitations.
